The E-Commerce Specialist - Online Store Checks

This guide shows you how to run the E-Commerce Specialist, what to type, and how to read what it sends back. To see what it checks and which plans include it, read the E-Commerce Specialist page.

Before you start

  • Open My AI agents, pick the E-Commerce Specialist for a seat, and click Save selection.
  • Have your store address and the address of a category or collection page that links to many products.
  • Know which store platform you use, such as Shopify or WooCommerce, because the fix steps differ.

Step by step

  1. Sign in and open My AI agents in the dashboard menu. Click the E-Commerce Specialist to put it in one of your seats, then click Save selection.
  2. Open the Dashboard page. In the chat box, type what you need in plain words and include your website address.
  3. Wait while the check runs. The answer shows in the chat, and the full report is saved under Audit reports & fixes.
  4. Make the changes you agree with, then send the same request again to see what is still open.

What to type in the chat

Copy one of these requests and change the details to match your business.

“Run an ecommerce audit on yourstore.com”
Use this for the regular check of up to 10 store pages; the Elite SEO Architect, Entity Schema Engineer and AI Visibility Auditor join in.

“Run an ecommerce audit on yourstore.com/collections/best-sellers/”
Use this when your homepage has few product links, so the check starts on a page full of products.

“Check the online store at yourstore.com”
Plain wording like this also starts the E-Commerce Audit.

How to read the results

  • If the check finds no product pages and no Product schema, you get one note saying this is not an ecommerce site, and nothing else.
  • Product schema findings name the product page and say whether the Product or Offer details are missing or broken.
  • Look for Flagged by E-Commerce Specialist, because the Entity Schema Engineer may report on the same page from its own angle.

What to do next

  • Fix schema in your store theme or app, so every product page gets the fix at once instead of one page at a time.
  • Test a fixed product page with Google's Rich Results Test, then run the audit again.
  • Click Copy fix instructions to send a finding to your developer, or use Fix this for me on a store hosted with BuzFind.

Tips

  • If you got the not an ecommerce site note for a real store, start the audit from a category or product page instead of the homepage.
  • A store behind a password page cannot be read, so open it to the public before you run the check.
  • Slow product pages or heavy images belong to the Speed Optimizer.

Questions about using it

Which address should I type for a big store?

Use a category or collection page that links to many products. The check follows links from that address and reads up to 10 pages.

Can I check a store that is not live yet?

Only if its pages are public. A store behind a password page cannot be read.

How do I see only this agent's findings?

Open the report in Audit reports & fixes and look for Flagged by E-Commerce Specialist under each finding.

Agents work better together. Here are specialists that pair well with the E-Commerce Specialist:

  • Entity Schema Engineer - Checks the schema.
  • Elite SEO Architect - Checks the keywords on your pages and suggests which ones each page should target, what to fix on existing pages, and which topics you are missing.
  • Speed Optimizer - Finds what makes your site slow, especially on phones, and gives you a fix list with the biggest wins first.
