How to use the Local SEO Guru

This guide shows you how to run the Local SEO Guru, what to type, and how to read what it sends back. To see what it checks and which plans include it, read the Local SEO Guru page.

Before you start

  • Open My AI agents, pick the Local SEO Guru for a seat, and click Save selection.
  • Fill in Business profile with your name, phone, full address and service area, then click Save business profile; the agent reads these along with your pages.
  • Write down the towns and main services you want to be found for, so you can compare them with the findings.
  • Have the addresses of any town or service area pages you already have.

Step by step

  1. Sign in and open My AI agents in the dashboard menu. Click the Local SEO Guru to put it in one of your seats, then click Save selection.
  2. Open the Dashboard page. In the chat box, type what you need in plain words and include your website address.
  3. Wait while the check runs. The answer shows in the chat, and the full report is saved under Audit reports & fixes.
  4. Make the changes you agree with, then send the same request again to see what is still open.

What to type in the chat

Copy one of these requests and change the details to match your business.

“Run a local SEO audit on yourbusiness.com”
Use this for the regular check of up to 5 pages; the AI Visibility Auditor joins in.

“Run a local SEO audit on yourbusiness.com/service-areas/”
Use this to check your town pages, because the check starts from the address you give and follows its links.

“Check if yourbusiness.com shows my city and service area”
Plain wording like this also starts the Local SEO Audit.

“Run a growth opportunity audit on yourbusiness.com”
Use this for a wider look at up to 12 pages that also covers keywords and content.

How to read the results

  • Each Local SEO Guru finding names a page and the local gap on it, and the Fix line says what to add.
  • A town name in your title, meta description, a subheading or your schema counts, even if the H1 itself does not have it.
  • If no page mentions a town or address at all, the agent treats you as a national business and gives at most one low note.
  • Contact details are only reported missing when a page has no phone link and no email link.

What to do next

  • If LocalBusiness schema was flagged, add it to your homepage or contact page first, with the same name, address and phone as in Business profile.
  • Update the titles and H1s on flagged pages one page at a time, using the towns you wrote down.
  • Click Copy fix instructions for your web person, or use Fix this for me on a site hosted with BuzFind.
  • Run the Local SEO Audit again once your changes are live.

Tips

  • The agent never sees your Google Business Profile; to set one up yourself, use Get listed (Google + Facebook) in your dashboard.
  • Make your phone number a tap-to-call link, because a number in plain text does not count as a phone link.
  • Keyword questions that are not about your area belong to the Elite SEO Architect.

Questions about using it

Should I run it once for each location?

If each location has its own page, start an audit from each page's address so those pages get read.

Why was my H1 not flagged even though it has no town name?

A town name in your title, description, a subheading or your schema already counts as a local signal, so the H1 is not judged alone.

Does what I put in Business profile change the results?

Yes. The agent reads your saved name, phone, address and service area along with your pages, so keep them current.
